Origins of ATTIC Diamonds - Conflict free + Canadian

As the most popular stone used in engagement rings and other fine jewellery, it’s important that their origins and journey on the way to adorning you is trusted and transparent.

Since 2015 ATTIC has been a retailer of Canadian-mined Canadamark diamonds, and in 2020 we committed to ensuring that each small white round diamond used in an ATTIC piece is of Canadian origin. Canadamark diamonds are tracked and responsibly mined in the Northwest Territories. When sourcing traditional white diamonds for ATTIC engagement rings, we always look for Canadian origin diamonds first.

Our perpetual hunt for unique greys and salt and peppers might take us elsewhere around the world, but always from trusted and responsible sources of conflict-free diamonds. This guarantee is due in large part to The Kimberley Process, established as a result of much-needed attention shed on the illicit market of conflict diamonds, or those sourced or mined in war zones to fund insurgencies. The KP, which formed in 2000 is a binding agreement among governments, civil society and industry leaders to remove conflict diamonds from the global supply chain and today 81 governments have included this certification system into their national law. Through massive global efforts, major retailers down to independent local studios like ATTIC now can guarantee working exclusively with conflict-free diamonds.
